What is $BGT (Berachain Governance Token)?

A soul-bound, non-transferable token that:

• Earn fees from native dApps.
• Earn a cut of incentives from validator(s) of your choice.
• Is used for governance (voting on network proposals).

How to earn $BGT?

$BGT can only be acquired by providing liquidity (or otherwise making your capital productive) in the ecosystem. The receipt token earned after providing liquidity proves this and MUST be staked in its corresponding “Reward Vault” to actually start accruing BGT.

1. View all whitelisted reward vaults on Berahub.
2. Provide liquidity to applications on Berachain .
3. Receive a receipt token (LP Token).
4. Stake the LP token in a reward vault.
5. Earn yield + $BGT.
6. Unstake the LP token and withdraw your funds at any time.

$BGT that has been claimed but HAS NOT boosted (’delegated to’) a validator, will not earn ANY rewards!

Reward Vaults are the ONLY way to earn BGT on Berachain — consider these the gates to PoL. If you want to understand what opportunities there are for earning BGT, the best place to start is the vault page on Berahub.

When participating in Berachain's Proof of Liquidity (PoL) system, choosing which validator(s) to boost with your BGT directly impacts your returns, as different validators distribute their block rewards to different reward vaults.

The Incentive Marketplace:
